the StretchiFlex Turned One! Now What..?

On July 10, 2024, I launched a little dream into the world: the StretchiFlex.

Not to shrink yourself, but to support yourself.
Not to be smaller - but to be you; embodying the confidence and humanity that called you into this career in the first place.

Yesterday, we turned ONE. 🎉

And now I’m dreaming up year two.
But first - some highlights from the beautiful chaos of year one!!

So here is a fun little lift of 6 of my favourite things from year one, and 6 things i’m looking forward to for year two!!

6 Highlights from our First Year

1. Hearing client testimonials (cheesy, but for reals)

Working with some of the loveliest and most inspiring clients I’ve ever met has (quite literally) been a dream. And then having a client tell me they aren’t afraid to push themselves on stage anymore because they think back to a session of ours and know they’re capable. Having a client say she’s no longer exhausted after a long day of vocal coaching. Even the excited “OH MY GOSH I CAN TOUCH MY TOES” moments hehe. They make my heart burst. The conversations of frustration and defeat when a client has injured themself and I get the privilege of walking alongside them to get back to their best. My golly, I’m grateful.
I love who I get to train - they show up tired, sometimes scared (of me, hehe), then we train and laugh, and they leave with the biggest smile on their face (because of the session, not because it’s over… right?). What a life.

2. That one toddler who trained with us over Zoom (naked, obviously)
One of my clients - a powerhouse Director and mum - trained with me while her toddler mimicked every move in real-time. With little plastic toys. In the nude. 10/10 core memory.

3. Launching our first performer-focused training program: The Winter Blast
What started as scribbles in my journal (literally) turned into a structured, individualised strength and mobility program for artists. And people did it. And loved it. Wild. (Well, they’re still doing it… and still loving it… because it runs until August 9, hehe.)

4. Collaborating with Premium Fitness
They believed in - and got excited by - my little niche. Now, I get to train incredibly talented people in incredibly stunning gym spaces. WHAT.

5. Launching our first-ever merch.
Did I think hats with emotional one-liners would bring me so much joy? No.
Do I now believe every performer needs one? Yes. Absolutely. And it’s only just the beginning… 🤩🥰

6. Collaborating with Caitlin and Carli
Dreaming, creating, and growing together as trainers and performers who care so much about what we do and why we do it (and who we do it with!).

This year has been so fun and I’m so excited for year two!!

6 Things We’re Dreaming for Year Two

1. Building community + events
We (obviously!) love to bring our people together - online and in real life - to move, connect, and celebrate this (wild) creative life. If you haven’t noticed, I’m slightly obsessed with pickleball. And soon we’re making it a thing. Occasionally. 😏

2. Traveling (and training) anywhere
My next two months involves Sydney, Canberra, QLD, Sri Lanka (!!) and, of course, Melbourne. And because I firmly believe movement shouldn’t stop just because you’re away, I’m dreaming up new ways to help you stay strong, stretchy, and connected wherever you are.

Cue:

3. The Spring Fling
Coming this September: our next performer-focused training program (where you are, rather than needing to stretch to my schedule - mind the pun tehe). Think energy, strength, mobility, and flexibility to carry you through rehearsals, gigs, and real life (yes, even the emotional spirals). Playful, powerful, and built for artists like you.

It’s the follow-up to The Winter Blast - so yes, you should ABSOLUTELY get excited for The Summer Salt already. (Say it out loud. It’s so fun.)

4. Keeping things kind and simple
Performers are busy. Athletes are busy. Creatives? Also busy. To keep our clients (and ourselves) safe and sane, I’m committed to keeping things kind and simple.

For our sessions to continue being the place where people say, “I had an awful morning but knew I’d feel better the moment I arrived here” (which I literally hear at least once a fortnight - and I’m so glad you feel that way).

… I mean, I’m not glad nor hopeful that you keep having awful mornings haha - but I am thrilled that the StretchiFlex is a space that lifts your day... while you lift. (I literally couldn’t help myself.)

5. More Merch!
We OBVIOUSLY wouldn’t stop at hats! Even if there are seven perfectly sassy hat options waiting in our store for you come July 22! And I won’t spill more beans than I have my hands on, but guys I’m SO EXCITED for this next year!

6. Playing!
This year was incredible because it was FULL of playing. Like, literally haha.

Actors are the best at playing (even Bessel van der Kolk agrees!) and so I really am looking forward to playing all year - in my art, in the studio, in my work, and with my clients. Hopefully that doesn’t read weirdo and you get what I mean lol!

Keeping it exciting - keeping it new - your body will thank you! (If you’re totally confused at what I’m talking about - add 3 x 30 second hand stands into your next training session as a fun closer. Do your next choré in a totally unexpected way: like you’re jelly when you can be. Add an accent while you’re learning your lines (because if you can’t switch in and out of an accent; do you even know your lines?) 😜

Have FUN. Create ART. Make something that changes the world (or makes one person better for it). And let’s do it cheering each other on (I’m not saying you can’t stalk the socials of who got your part - that’s still unavoidable…)

I love being asked industry advice during a training session. I love giving workout advice (only when asked!) on set. Being so involved in both worlds has been less of a head-spin, and more of a grounding in understanding what I love, why I love it, and why I do it when my calendar is already so full haha.

Let’s get it!

Xx
